AltSax records was created by Saxophonist and composer Noah Howard in New York city back in 1968. The purpose of the company was and is to present and promote improvised music to an international music loving audience. AltSax Records is part of AltSax Music Incorporation which is a company with two devisions. First AltSax Records for the production of music and visual materials and second the AltSax division for the publishing of AltSax music as an affliate of B.M.I.

AltSax has provided many albums and CD's from Noah Howard [Noah's Discography] and produced several other artists such as Ted Daniels, Lavelle, Joe Lee Wilson, Takashi Kako, Michael Smith, Chris mc Gregor, Johnny Diani and many others.

Noah Howard is the president of AltSax Records and his purpose with the company for the future is to be on the cutting edge of worldwide promotion of improvised music as we go into the 21st century.

The believe is that certain artists have a natural spark of creativity that allows them to go one step further in their persuit of creative improvisation regardless of the particular kind of music they endeavor to follow.

The 20th century has blessed us music lovers with an enormous amount of creative musicians. Without the neccessary support none of theire music woud be in the recorded market for all of us to enjoy.

Today it is with this drive and determination we continue to strive to break new ground with young artists while we continue to follow the creative direction of our recorded artist as well of our president and composer Noah Howard.

The limits and bounderies are still to be defined and chartered in great Afro American music.
